wales entry requirements for students

Undergraduate admissions

You have a couple of choices for undergraduate admissions. You can apply by way of:

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)

With this choice, you can submit applications to five different UK universities and/or programmes. You submit one application form and pay a fixed price of £26 to do so. To ensure that your application is given equitable consideration, you should try to submit it by the final Wednesday in January. No matter where you wish to study in the UK, you must apply through UCAS.

The Common App

You can submit an application to four of Wales’ eight universities via the Common App by downloading it.

Direct Application

You can submit a direct application to a few Welsh universities. If you only want to apply to one university, this is a fantastic choice because it is free.

Graduate and postgraduate admissions

You need to submit a direct application to the university for graduate and postgraduate admissions. Make sure you satisfy the minimal entrance requirements by checking. This typically requires at least a 2.2 (US GPA of 2.6) from a UK university.

But, before applying, you should always double-check the prerequisites on the university’s website.

English Language ability

Most institutions will want you to demonstrate your English proficiency if it is not your first language. The specifications of the university to which you are applying should be checked. Some will have their own English language test available, while others may need you to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
